Squealing brakes
« on: October 13, 2020, 09:39:54 PM »
I need help !  We trail ride our 2019 uforce 500. The brakes are squeaking soooo bad it is spoiling the ride. Fast or slow, ride the brakes, nothing seems to help.  Any thoughts ????

They all squeak and badly...I have tried  cleaning and filing the pads, backing off the e-brake, lubing the pins and applying red anti squeal goop to the back of the pads all to no avail...seems some guys are putting a chamfer on the edges of the pads and that seems to help but it seems the only fix (and probably my next step as well) is to go to EBC pads which are a bit softer and seems to stop that retched squealing

Yeah it's tough sometimes. I did all stovtop did plus chamfer softer EBC brakes and got them to stop but not sure which one..if it was just one...that did it. Many just use the red disk brake quiet on the pad backs..where others use the spray quiet and it stops.

I'm one who did the red goop (Disk Brake Quiet) on the backing plate backs and for me that shut them right up except for very infrequent dust intrusion making the rare chirp.

My understanding is that these are the EBC pad numbers:

FA726R for fronts
FA747R for the rear but not released yet for rear. Should be soon

The rear pads on my 2018 Uforce 500 are the problem. Bad squealing! I want to replace the rear pads, can't find a part number that will work.

What are you guys using?

OK, but my question is, what rear pad part number is everyone using to replace the stock pads?

I have a set on my garage shelf pending my needing them. I'll look for a part number.

I believe the 2018+s are different then all previous. Anyone can go to EBC's site and look up the part numbers. If not there...then they aren't making it...yet.
