The problem is...the holes they put in the bottoms of the filters are different sizes and the posts they slip over are also different sizes. No one really make a filter specifically for a CFM engine other then CFM. People use brands for the 800 Rotax engine..which was what was copied and "adjusted" by CFM. But the actual post side is slightly different as well as the filters. To be correct, when installed, the rubber grommet must not only seal to the post, but expand enough to seal to the bottom of the filter. If it doesn't, there is a chance for a leak or "bypassing". And it just takes a .002 piece of trash to scare a rod bearing. I tested Highflo, CFM and K&N. The only one that fit correctly on the post was the CFM. The others had play in the grommet grove. This is why I will use only a CFM oil filter. You would be wise to test several and make sure it seals tight. I'm sure one will be just fine...maybe all.
These were some of the numbers I came up with at the time. The can am numbers came from the Highflow and the K&N. At the time, no one listed a filter for the CFMs other then CFM.
