Good Evening all
I went to Mt Blue state park (Maine) Wed for a little ride... Oh let me tell ya....
Lets just say it was a experience. I went off the edge of a log mat, which was under 8" of water... I didn't know it was there until I lost my rt front wheel and the whole rig was leaning over on its side to just about the tipping point. F U D G E....
well I shut her down so as to not wash the inside as well as the outside had been done. I stupidly got off on the low side to try and crab it back on to whatever it fell off of. When I went to dismount it I found myself not feeling the bottom. Once I did the water was over my waist. I had about another 50' to go to get to the exit. I had about 40' to some small trees. I grabbed the strap out of my box, wrapped it around the closest tree and winched the rig out of a real bad spot. I have to say the winch saved my ass pretty good. Once the water drained out of everywhere... I got going again. I was on my way to view a piece of property and still had a ways to go. The riding was very boney and rocky with washouts and roots everywhere. my speed was pretty slow 5 - 8 mph. So I'm going along like that and the next thing to happen is I get the whole high temp alarm full bars nonsense. Oh shit the fan isn't kicking on! WTF is this?

So I shut it down for a bit, then ran it, then shut it down... Once I had some clear trail where I could run it up over 20mph she cooled down but the slow stuff was killing me. As it so happens on one of the faster sections I just clipped a rock or maybe a root just the right way and got my first flat. LOL you can't make this up. I stop and I check it out. I couldn't see the gash that was in there so I figured I probably hit it in such a fashion that maybe i unseated the bead and I lost my air. Ah yea. um nope

5 plugs and some real nice guy with a portable compressor helped me out. I had a tire patch kit with the co2 and all that but I went through the co2... so I will replace that and probably just buy another kit and combine what I have. Anyway he got me going again. I bailed on looking at the property at this point and figured I just better make my way back. I retraced my path to the point where I could take a different route to avoid another bath.
Nursed her back to the truck.

Now I have to deal with the tire issue. Not a big deal. What I am doing now is troubleshooting the fan issue. I am following the service manual to figure this out but I have a couple of questions.
First one, is the fuse a 40 amp or 30 amp? the manual says 30 but all i could find was a 40 on the rt side.

could this be the one? If it is then the fuse is good, not burnt. 2nd question, according to the manual it says make a jumper to bypass the relay. I did this but I assume you have to have the engine up to temp so the fan will kick on and not cycle? Is this correct?
The relay block all looks good and dry with no visible issues. I will check the ohms like the manual says but Im not too sure which pins to test and my multi meter has a ohms selection but again Im not sure which to choose from... maybe the lowest. i Guess.
Well Thanks for the ride along if you hung in here this far I owe you all either beers or cigars and or whiskey. I am grateful for this forum without it I would definitely would of had a much worse time.
Thanks
Chris
