Has anyone ever used a waterless engine coolant. I have been reading about it a bit and am thinking about trying it out. Basicly looking for pros and cons and maybe people with experience with the stuff. Thanks

I also have been thinking about it. Expensive..but forever unless you have a leaky water pump seal..lol. All water must be removed but they have a prep to use for that. Jay Leno did a spot on it and it seems to be the cat's azz of coolant. I did flush out all my Chinese coolant and install just 50/50 Peak in mine. Working fine but someday I would like to try the waterless...but if there is a chance that water pump seal could start leaking again..I won't.

The Jay Leno vid is what got me thinking about it. I do agree with you though about not doing it if it's just going to leak out. I have had the water pump once already and I only have 160 miles on it. I might wait a bit and see what happens with it

I dont know, I read up more on it and may not be the cats meow it says it is.. Id like to personally know or talk to someone who has or is using it in a everyday ride before i put it in mine.. Not saying it is no good but would not want to be the first one to find out it does not..lol..

I have been using a waterless coolant in all my bikes and quad for about five years now. I use an Australian brand called Liquid Intelligence which is made here. It is like a thin oil to look at but is not an oil at all. Pretty clever stuff.
I had the usual water pump dribbles and after switching to the waterless have not had a leak since. I think the slightly slipperier consistency of the stuff helps the seal to seal and the sealing faces to glide over each other. It will never boil or freeze in this country, lasts forever, and the best thing for me is it doesn't corrode the alloy components (especially good for engines that sit for long periods) and I have never seen any stains around joints like you see with coolant.
It is a bit of a fiddle to clean out the old coolant and dry the insides (I like to leave mine open for a week or so to dry) but you only have to do it once, and in years to come will not be replacing components due to corrosion.
I recommend changing to waterless from new and never have a problem or change it again.
This is the one I use.
