That would be a lean mean fast machine! The Wildcat Trail (700 inline twin) has the same HP as the Z8, and I had better take off and top end in the WCT too.
I honestly can't see it happening. The AC forums have been begging for just such a setup on the 50" Trail, but it then would step on the toes of the higher end Wildcat 1000, and while I agree that they are completely separate animals, AC is trying to stick with 'tried and true' to shave costs at the detriment of losing any sort of market segment they may have carved out for themselves.
They did redesign the suspension entirely on the Wildcat X RG Pro Edition -
