Success! At first it didn't!...then I decided to impact it to the tighten direction a bit then reverse and it slowly(at first) started to loosen. There was no loc-tite on it, it was rusted. A brand new machine that has never seen water..had rusted between the steel part of the clutch hub and the part of the nut that inserts into it. Its all clean now.

Set the spring to the next tighter position and it's back together ready to be re-installed. Now if the new sliders would just get here...

Excellent, sometimes you just need more muscle. The two sets of sliders I ordered took a long time to get here. I wish the us dealers would carry them. How did you get the socket on that nut?

The metric set I got uses 3/4" drive so I needed to use an adaptor to get down to 1/2". Once that all was on the nut there wasn't room for the impact but with a 6" extension it could be done through the wheel well next to the battery with the fender and the battery cover off. Ever-so-slight angle though. From the inside with all the plastics out you could get a breaker bar or large torque wrench through there though easily but I just couldn't get enough force on it that way to do anything.

So..how long did it take for your sliders to come in?

This is the impact I bought. Not a bad price and it IS a wicked fu*ker.

That's not a bad price at all. Not looking forward to doing the secondary. Maybe I could procrastinate  till spring.

Maybe yours won't have the rust. If not it will come off as easy as the primary and won't need such an impact.

I will have to keep that in mind. If I buy anymore tools, the wife may try to hurt me.

Lol..I know that feeling. I just bought 500 bucks worth of tires of mine and although we don't share money, she gives me hell for spending on the toys. Hated to tell her but had to cause UPS will be here any day now with them. Some things I don't tell her like the impact, sliders, impact metric sockets..ect.

Well, I was almost done buttoning it back up with the stock rollers for a test drive when what should come in the mail...yep..the sliders. I guess as I paid 84 bucks for them I should give them a try...right? Ok..and maybe my new tires will come tomorrow.

I have to tell myself to be patient all the time. Every time I'm not, I could just kick myself. I hope it works out, let us know how it works out.

Got it all back together and tested it a few feet in the yard. Seems like it will be OK but no room to get any speed out of it..and boy I hope the wife doesn't see what I did to the grass till after I fix it some..it's got a bunch more low end.

Got it out today to the desert and sand. I can say I am very relieved that the 22gram sliders were exactly what I needed after all and the B/2 setting was perfect and perfect can be. It raised the RPM an average of 1800 through out the entire range as expected which puts it center in the power band at all times. No more feeling like the "family station wagon". Remember here at 5400+ feet, all internal combustion engines loose about 22% power due to the O2 loss. Imagine yours with almost 25% less power. Now mine hits more like a RZR 900...and then some. She back shifts instantly on que and pulls the sand hills at about 6K and holds it to the top. And, it only lost about 5mph off the top end. Awesome on the trails too now. This was the first ride that I actually had as much fun as I do on my Brute Force. I will use more gas...but what the heck...it's worth it! When I got home, my new 27" Grim Reapers were on the porch. What a day!

Yeah I think the factory should set them all there to start with. It sure wakes them up.

Here's a quick video I did yesterday. Mostly to hear the higher RPMs and ratio change.
