Ordering the Super ATV flip up windshield tomorrow and need a rear windshield as well and I am trying to decide hard or soft...no pun intended, I am leaning towards the soft windshield with the zip open panel that Pacific Eagle offers.

Ordering the Super ATV flip up windshield tomorrow and need a rear windshield as well and I am trying to decide hard or soft...no pun intended, I am leaning towards the soft windshield with the zip open panel that Pacific Eagle offers.

I like my hard shield from SATV but with the flip open it would at times be nice to have the back open as well. I say try the soft one if it can seal well enough when closed.

I have the soft rear, but no zip open window on it. Seems to seal and work fairly well, I will add the zipper to it so it can be rolled up though. Be nice to have flow through sometimes. My goal is to have it so I can completely seal it up in inclement weather, and roll it all back to open it all up, ie: flip up windshield, roll up back window, roll back side curtains, all stays mounted on machine and ready to use if needed. I do like the hard rear windows, but they would be best with maybe a slider modded into them?

The only drawback on the soft stuff I have found is attachment. They use velcro stick on, and sewn on straps to attach. The sticky velcro doesn't adhere well after time, and especially if it's on any of the plastic areas. I solved this by converting all the soft stuff to snaps instead of velcro. Found some nice black snap sets on amazon.

Both of you are seconding my thoughts, sealed when rainy or dusty and open when hot, just wondering what pluses the hard one might offer or negatives for the soft one. I like the open window option because these machines are street legal here and I do a lot of driving on the roads where dust is not an issue but heat is. I did order doors from Rodin and have considered roll down side curtains but I am not too sure how I will feel being so closed in, that is why I want the flip up and zip open...to still have a feeling of openness and freedom when wanted.
