Relays

So has anyone found a suitable replacement for the typical CFmoto relays?

22/23 Cforce 800XC.

ThinkI lost my 4wheel relay, and the one next to it was bulging and pretty hot.

Ill have to go back through my harness to see if I missed any breaks I think.

yeah. I think Im going to look closer at the wiring harness too.

This is the one Ive been having problems with and found where the wires had rubbed through on as well.

that vegetable based wiring coating that EVERYONE has gone to seems to be a crock.

It was working fine, then wasnt working.

I was using it, disengaged it, went to re-engage it a bit later.

Switch is fine . . so I checked the relay box.

I might go so far as to dismount the harness and do an inch by inch inspection.

Once you get the body off it's pretty straight forward.

Excellent.

But . . The problem isnt in my relays.
Tried swapping them out and trying new ones. They are functioning, but the motor isn't.

So. I pulled my front actuator motor.
I opened it up and found it was absolutely full of gear oil.
It appears the little cam that the tiny 12v motor drives has a square oring on it so I suspect the oil saturation is what caused the failure.
I have to dry it out more so I can see how it all fits together.

The shifting mechanism in the Differential case and the fork move just fine. I suspect an enterprising individual could make a manual selector switch. The design of the selector is simple and works with very little effort.
The gears work just fine and no excessive metal particles or anything but the little motor in the actuator (think toy motor size) isn't working.
The mechanism in the actuator seems to be just fine however. If way over lubricated.

Ill get pictures later, Ive got it laid out to drain the oil off as much as possible.

Heh. Yeah the little Drive motor (door lock drive) appears to be shot.
Trying to track down the motor with the right gear on it.
I can find the same chassis easy enough. but the tooth count varies.
theyre about $3 a piece . . instead of $259.

Im going to see if I can reboot this actuator.

Did you ever try to replace just the motor?

I pulled my actuator this morning. I found it turns one way but will not move again. If I flip over to lock the diff, it will move the other way and not move again. Going back to the 4x4, it will move back the other way. The gear/fork seemed stuck at first but once I took the pin out I was able to free it up. I want to ride soon so my plan is to put it back together and see if I can trick it to go back and forth.

Mine seems to be stuck in 4x4. It will not come out of it on the dash and when in any gear the front drive shaft is spinning. I'll start a new tread on that though.

Thanks

So, I can find the motors, but I can't find the exact shaft length or the correct gear pitch.
I ended up buying an actuator unit.

While the shaft could be trimmed and polished, I have yet to find a 10 tooth gear, never mind the correct pitch.
