I just got my new to me GPS mounted in the rig tonight.  Just have to wire it up. $75 on craigslist!

Nice. Let us know how you like it...especially in the sun light. I was going to get the Baja but didn't and regret it..just a little..only because this Magellan isn't backlit as well as the Lawrance. I may still get one in the future.

I took it for a quick test run today.  Worked well in the sun.  Has two levels of backlights intensity.  Much better than my old one.  This one is a 3600c so it's a discontinued model, but still works great and is pretty accurate.

trail tech voyager is also a really nice unit waterproof and easy to use a little pricey but worth the money and they are a small unit that can be mounted right in front of you or be used as a hand held gps also

Yeah have one on my Brute. Great unit. Only problem...no maps. Got me out of trouble more then once...lol

you can download maps on to a sd card and upload them into the voyager i havent tried it yet they explained it on the cd that comes with it

As I recall, what they call maps are actually routs or tracks. Maps are overalays like base map, topographical or satellite views. Some examples are like this.

This is track converted to a rout with several map overlays. This first one is just a base map:



This one is still a base map but with terrain added:

And finally my favorite, the Satellite or Arial view map:



So...yeah you can go to their open source and download tracks or routs...what they call maps...and upload them into the voyager from the SD card but not any of these overlays which everyone else calls "Maps". Still love my Voyager. Has helped me many times and the GPS is more actuate then many others.
