Yes, I saw that the 800 had such great pulsing in the intake that it broke the filter. I do not believe my 600 will have that same issue. Fact of the matter is, I can now mount any filter in the world as long as it is a 2 inch adapter. The K&N's have a great reputation as long as you utilize the snow dust cover along with it. I also purchased what looks like a $29.00 nylon baggie (snow cover)

. Overall however, I feel this 600 is a great machine and not too bad or difficult to work on. One thing I did notice is that all of the plumbing are odd oval shapes making modifications very difficult but not impossible. My machine is a little loud, but I've always preferred the single cylinder engines for off road vehicles. Less parts, less problems!
