Is anyone running a rear chase strobe light?  I'm thinking of putting one on on my Z6 so people can see us on the trail when it's really dusty.

Strobes seem like a horrible idea.  Especially in the dust.  it would be like high beams in fog only worse.  A light is a good idea but not very bright and flashing is even worse.
I can imagine a world completely at peace.  A world where there are no weapons, no war, and no violence at all.  And I can imagine us taking over that world because they would never expect it.

I was thinking of something similar to this.

Most of the desert race cars use something similar.

right but they dont have anyone actively following them.  The closest person is usually a mile away or more.  If you have friends and hate them then i suppose that light would work great LOL

Haha.  That might be a good selling point. 😉

I may just high mount one red LED just to try to make the machine more visible.

good plan.  Also a very good option are those LED tape strips.  They put out plenty of light to be seen for several hundred feet but are diffused enough to not blind people.

Maybe just one of those LED whips. Sure would be less expensive.

I actually have these on on two race vehicles and my own daily driver and they do work well, On a recent trip with my daily i had the orange strobe on for my mate who was following, when i asked about how bright it was, he said there was times the tail lights disappeared but he could still see the tail lights and strobe lights on the rear light bar. The sections of lights work out to be 51 watts of light each.  The strobe function can be turned on or off and has 7 different strobe patterns.

I have looked at putting one on my quad but it seams like over kill. On a UTV I would though
