question about switching gears
« on: October 05, 2024, 07:34:46 AM »
hello, i'm new here. I have noticed that when I want to shift gears with my Zforce 1000 Sport R, I do not have to press the brake pedal or button on the shifter, this may be normal.

You should have to press the button on the shifter as it is the gate-lock. Without it it can get bumped out of position while moving. It may just need adjusting. I assume they made no changes that would make the brake peddle depression necessary so that should be normal.

Probably like the old ones where it is adjusted with the shift knob...as in the more it is screwed down, the more it takes the lock off. Loosen the jam nut under the handle and un-screw it 1-3 turn and see if it locks the gate and you have to push the button to move the handle. If it does nothing it might mean there is something broken.
