The Canadian CF Moto 2016 model year only come with (1) one full year of warranty, if you want the additional (5) years of warranty you have to pay extra for it.

Wow...that's a change!

I was going to wait till the 2016 Z800 was here, but thinking about it, the 5 year extended warranty (included) and the $2100.00 off the MSRP on the 2015 model year just didn't make any since to put off buying 2015 over the 2016 model.

I've owned both CF Moto and Polaris and wouldn't steer anybody away from either machine.  HOWEVER, there are going to be some issues no matter what you buy like previously mentioned.  Like I've always heard:  "if it's got tits or tires; it'll give you trouble".

So here are my complains with each:

CF Moto -
1.  Not friendly to perform routine maintenance.  It's not like it's impossible, but it's not nearly as easy as it should be to get to the air and oil filters.

2.  The comfort/ergonomics need some refining.  If I were to change the cockpit I'd increase the legroom, make the seating angle more laid back and lower, and finally move the gas pedal so it's more comfortable on the shin muscle.

3.  The aftermarket support has made leaps and bounds, but you're not going to have access to the amount of accessories as some other brands.

Polaris -
1.  Money pits.  Everything about my RZR costs more.  Initial cost, maintenance items (if you use Polaris brand), parts (again if Polaris), and the availability of accessories just makes things more tempting to spend money lol.

2.  Quality Control.  The price of these units in correlation to the quality of some of the parts is almost criminal.  I bent an a-arm the first weekend and replaced it with OEM (shame on me) and bent it again a few rides later.  Now I've got SuperATV high clearance forward arms.  They weigh in at almost 25 pounds heavier than OEM if that says anything. The voltage regulator is known to be a widespread issue as well and there haven't been any recalls to my knowledge.

3.  Not backing warranty claims and work.  I think this is partially the fault of some dealers not going to bat for customers, but I've seen too many cases where people were denied warranty work for whatever reason.  I'm sure that some are legitimate denials, but I feel like there are too many cases where warranty claims are denied.

Whatever you choose just enjoy it, maintain it, and do your part for the off-road community so we can keep doing what we love to do.

I dont think I agree with that. There is a LOT of aftermarket support. Problem is, most of the DEALERS arent aware there is. DynoJet, TwoBrothers, TwinAir, KFI Products, Kolpin, EJK Controllers, SuperATV, Camoplast (Camso), STM PowerSports (aftermarket clutching)... Just to name a few. The UForce bed rails use the same locking system as Polaris for accessories like gun racks.

Yes that's why I mentioned the progress for aftermarket support, but it's not nearly as prevalent as other larger brands.  Just in 11 months of being involved with the brand there have been numerous developments.

I hope it does continue to broaden so CF Moto can expand their US footprint.  I'd like to see what they can/will do with future model releases.

I got mine for a steal! The dealership was closing and had a 2015 Zforce 800ex. No matter where you go it drives like it's dry and flat ground! Picked mine up for $8500 tax title registration included! So I'm not complaining. Made my top half windshield and had enough to make the back window as well. Compared to the Viking at $15,500 it was a no brainier for me. My friend had 3 razors one eps went out fixed it then went out again but after warranty so neither Polaris nor the dealership he spent over $60,000 at will help. The other two RZR s he has 900 and 1000 keep sucking in valves. So. ALL have some issues at some point, Google shock rubbing. And you'll see across the board all manufacturers have had that issue, Arctic cat dealer told me that the engine brake on Artic cats "one way bearing" WILL go out quick. Artic cat told them the fix is to just remove it! Rzr s don't use engine braking so you have to manually brake during steep or slippery hills. I like the Yamaha transmission and cfmoto is very similar. So all around I feel that the cfmoto Zforce is on its way to break the " Chinese imposter" reputation. Keep in mind none of these manufacturers came into this as being # 1. It comes down to do you really need a machine that you will rally race with and do 15' jumps or is it something to have fun with for you and your family? For me... I wanted to get muddy, trail ride, hit some tire high water, and snow. Not going all you tube extreme back flip crazy.

I picked mine up for $8500 tax title registration all included 2015 800 EX.
( no eps ) but still I couldn't refuse it. Love this machine. It's a perfect fit for us. MSRP on the EX is $11,599 now. So check around or see if your dealer is going to work on a better deal.

Thanks Jason for the honest and open comparison.

I'd love to own a RZR 900S.
But over here in Belgium/Europe the price is >23k in US $...

What you mention about the RZR and Polaris confirms some owner stories I hear :-[
This puts potential issues on the CF Z800  in another perspective.
Considering the ZForce 800 costs less than 13k US $..

I rode with a RZR900S and and Artic Cat Wild Cat 1000. And kept up with both flawlessly. One thing to remember. Unless you're planning a drag race, track race, or a wide open dessert dune to unleash that power then I think you will be fine. That 500HO isn't a kids toy it's still the real deal. If 55mph IS the top speed, then I think that's pretty good. In the trails if you get mid 20's it seems fast. Just food for thought.

Agreed. These are for off-road adventures, not drag racing. For me, mostly it's between 8-25mph and rarely have any real reason to "turn the moose loose".
