Poor Idling: the real problem was electrical
« on: September 16, 2017, 03:20:12 PM »
I bought a CF500-C brand new in 2015. At the beginning of last fall, I began experiencing some problem with the engine overheating and going irregular when on idle. The dealer's mechanic said he had solved  the problem but in no time, the trouble was back.

This week-end, I invited a good friend of mine, an experienced mechanic who finally found whath was the problem.

Wires from the dyno burned deep, melting the envelope. False electrical signals sent through the whole machine disturbed the injector.

Will I have some chance to benefit of the warranty, since I opened the engine myself. I will see and report.

Only one way to find out.

Call your dealer and explain the situation and ask them to request coverage.
They don't have to tell CFMOTO that you are the one that found it ;-)

CFMOTO is making strong efforts to keep owners satisfied so it's worth a shot.

Unless you were messing/changing with the wiring, they should cover it. Shouldn't matter you had to find it yourself. I hope the dealer didn't find that harness melted a little than just put it back.

Yup, regardless, they "should" definitely cover it. It wasn't your fault that the envelope melted. Poor wiring at its worst.

That stator looks overheated as well, what loads are you running on the electrical system?
