override in H gear?
« on: July 10, 2024, 12:43:42 PM »
Hello guys,

I have problem with cfmoto cforce 1000. When I put in the H gear, the RPM only goes up to 4000 and after that the engine chokes. I have to press the override button to be able to go over 400rpm. When I put in the N gear everything is normal with the rpm. No choking. I don't know what the problem is.

I know I only need to use override when I in L gear. But this is first time that I need to
Use override in H gear.

Usually RPM limiters are used in Low, Reverse and when in 4wd and/or especially in 4wd in diff-loc. I assume you are not in 4wd or diff-loc but is there any indication that the ECU thinks it is such as any indicator on the dash? And is there anything out of place such as the wrong gear position light on when in High range?

On the dash, everything seems to be okay. There are no indications that I am not in H gear or that the ECU has a problem.
When I turn on the quad, and put it in H, everything is normal, after a while the problem appears. This is the first time I see this problem.
The strange thing is that this only happens in H gear. When it is in Neutral it goes up to over 4000rpm and there is no choking. I don't know what exactly could be the problem here.

Try this. The next time it does it loosen the gas cap enough to release any pressure or vacuum it may have and try it again. If the problem goes away, look to a stuck shut tank check valve. This may not be electrical at all. Of course the same can happen if there were enough water in the tank or in a fuel filter....or just a failing fuel pump..but I would thing low fuel pressure would trigger an error code...but maybe not.

I found what the problem was, the "Oxygen sensor" was the problem, the jack was the problem, after I cleaned it and put it back the problem was solved.
