Oil filter housing hole
« on: November 18, 2016, 01:46:26 AM »
Just doing my first oil change and I find this big wonky hole in the back, doesn't look machined it looks broken. Service manual shoes a hole from the oil pump.

its supposed to be like that.  That is where the oil comes in to go around the filter and be sucked through.  The reason it looks like that is that its machined from the other side.
I can imagine a world completely at peace.  A world where there are no weapons, no war, and no violence at all.  And I can imagine us taking over that world because they would never expect it.

Yeah is just where the oil pump discharges to the outside of the filter. It shows this in the manual.

Awesome, had an Oh Shit moment there when I first saw it, a piece that big rolling around I. The engine would have caused major problems immediately but I just wanted to be sure. Thanks guys!
