Oil Filer/ Z800
« on: September 23, 2016, 08:02:28 AM »
I have seen some people have tried the KN 152 Oil filter on the Z800...want to make sure it is a good fit??!!  Any feedback.  They seem to be cheaper and much easier to get than the OEM filter

People use them but let me say this: Hyflow also makes a 152 which is actually for the Rotax 800 and there is a slight difference in the nipple size it slides onto. Enough that some bypassing will happen with the Hyflow 152. I don't know personally how the K&N actually fits but I do know about the Hyflow. If the K&N states it's for the CFM 800, then it's probably OK. Otherwise I would not use it. And according to this application chart, it is not listed:

Interested in this topic because I just bought a K&N 152 and was gonna get ready to change out... If anyone has measurements on the stock filter and nipple maybe we can compare to the K&N and get this figured out so nobody is putting their machines at risk of blow-by or damage

Well, here's my measurements on the Hyflow and the stock I did when looking at the remote system:
