I've never heard of running diesel in the engine for any reason, for any length of time? Why would you need to have this procedure done? Enquiring want to know?  :(

diesel has additives that will help flush engine , cant run more than 30 seconds , but with the additives it helped flush out all the crap still left from  the break inn oil , same as engine flush you by from store for you car , ,all i no is my bike would not run , at all after oil change , i am stumped at this also , but what ever was blocking sensor on crank was def flushed away , i road hard all weekend in the mountain trails in pennsylvania  and no problems , , just wanted to put it out there that this had accured , and there was no answer for the code readingt , when all checked out , flushed engine and all is well , was just checking if any others had the code pop up ,,

I've noticed now on a few customer machines, and mine as well, that sometimes I get a grey sludge build up on my drain plug. It wouldnt surprise me if that same sludge made it on your sensor. I wouldnt worry, its most likely deposit from fuel. Got to remember, here in the states our EPA has forced ethanol blended fuel that makes a mess of everything its used in. Luckily in my area, its a HUGE boating and ORV area, so multiple gas stations sell recreational fuel (100% gasoline) and we have less fuel related issues.

The crank sensor is VERY easy to get to, even easier to remove. Its one 8mm bolt and bam, its off. Just be careful when you remove it, theres an orange O-ring that doesnt always like to come out with the sensor. You need that O-ring.

Could have got a free one from here.  Anyway I wonder if a high zinc oil or some other additive could have an effect of the pickup.

when i did the engine rebuild, i used a 10w30 break in oil (high zinc) for 200 miles, then swapped with shell rotella 15w40 (high in zinc). Have had that in for close to 400 miles. No issues with my crank sensor yet.

Guess that isn't a cause then.
