New zforce800 EX cost
« on: August 29, 2016, 01:08:49 PM »
I've been looking around a while at sxs and have found that the zforce 800 has better prices with the standard options as the other guys (who expect you to pay for every little thing extra).  I have priced a zforce 800ex with power steering, dealer installed (not an eps model) and out the door price is $11,500.  This looks like a great deal, my hardest part is making the step to finance or wait till I have the extra cash.

I don't get out much and ride but would more with a sxs because I would be able to take my son with me.  Does anyone have positive remarks or horror stories before I take a leap into this world?

Man there is good and not so good in every brand. I will say the new 800EX (16 0r 17) is the best one yet so..just do it. And heck, my 2015 has never left me wanking or buying any parts yet. For someone like you it would make the best choice IMO. Do the EX but make sure you get one with factory power steering, not dealer installed....because I actually don't think they can do it with the CFM parts. Maybe with SuperATV aftermarket parts its possible.

The dealer said the power steering kit is from cfmoto, but have no way to verify.  Any advice to make sure its original equipment.

It can be done with the Super ATV kit (I did it) but if you can get factory EPS system just do that.  When I was doing my EPS system it looked like a factory system would bolt right in there as an FYI.
I can imagine a world completely at peace.  A world where there are no weapons, no war, and no violence at all.  And I can imagine us taking over that world because they would never expect it.

I love my Z800EX. (Non eps) from what I've seen here, some dealers are saying there is more to it than just adding the eps motor. I can't say that for sure but the mounting bracket sure is there on my non eps. Pretty sure it can be done easily but the one dealer that said it was a lot of work probably wanted the extra $$$.
So I'd ask some questions before buying
1. Is the power steering covered under the same one year as a factory installed one?
(Get that in writing)
2. What all did it require to make it eps?
3. Did it take away AMPS that would limit adding additional features
(Lighting,radio, etc)
I'm pretty sure if they're reputable they will ease your concerns. Or have them order a factory eps model.
Price seems about fair.
If you like it. Get it!!
These are some pretty nice machines and without paying for all the options.

The factory system requires a different harness, a 500watt stator and regulator, different ECU along with all the components and controller. Have him list the parts in this "Kit". Unless in all the new ones they now automatically use the PS harness,ECU and HO stator in all of them.

Thanks NMK. I knew there was more to it than just an install on the column.

If all you want is to bring the kids along, there are a few lower cost options. The 500H.O is a good deal and 2up. The z5 is also 3k less. Same body but smaller engine. The z8 has the HP, that's for sure.

Thank you all for the great information.  I'll have them check to see if it is original or aftermarket they use.

At least for all prior to 2016 this is what it takes. Maybe there are some changes for 2016/17 that makes it possible for a "Kit" from CFM.
