Needed info onReclocking 2020 cforce 500 2up
« on: January 02, 2021, 08:08:48 PM »
New to the forum so bare with me lol.

I have a 2020 cforce 500 2 up and looking to reclock the secondary change the spring and change the primary weights. Regardless of what I have found online I have questions unanswered.

My riding style is probably like everyone else's..  I mean I ride basic trails, to technical trails deep water and mud and plow and haul with the bike.

But I wanna wake that throttle up and seems that reclocking it what I wanna do. I want some gains I should be able to walk this thing lol.

I've seen the all famous YouTube guy for CF moto more specifically his 500 that he reclocked and woke up.

But where do I buy the kit? "Spring and weights" and which ones?

You don't buy the spring for the secondary, you use the one it has and set the ends on different holes. We have a pinned thread in the How Tos for the Zs with videos which has the same secondary. The primary..for yours is different being its a dry-type. Talk with Dr Pulley on weights for yours but I wouldn't go but about a gram lighter. I don't know what yours come with...probably 25gram but need to know for sure. Could weigh one and see. Yours will also have a spring in the primary that can be changed but usually they are just fine as is.

Awesome man thank you!! I've talked to everyone local that I thought would know something about the CVT.. but nothing not even the dealer.

Now how do I know which setting on the secondary gives me what results. I believe the guy off YouTube went to B1 in the secondary and went with new weights/rollers on the primary.

I've tried talking to his guys but being American shipping options not so great:(

On the post you mentioned I glanced at it quick the video near the bottom said he had new spring and weights??

In most cases C1 has been the best for the 500s. As for primary weights and springs you will need someone that has done it. For now...just do the C1 if no one has any other info.

I think they come stock on C1.

From what I have searched? Anytime you change or reclock the secondary you should change over the spring to suit the adjustment along with weights.

One video here.

Another here of the 500 with the update.

I've tried contacting air dam clutches no response.. same with mains treet cycle..  kind frustrating.. take my money already lol

To my knowledge all CFMs come from the factory set to B1.

Hmm this video above posted mentioned b1 also in the 400 so you maybe correct. He went to B3 with a weight adjustment new weights and primary spring.

I thought I read somewhere they were C1 lol I've read so much on it now I'm LOST hahahahah my lord.

I youtube and our forum seem to be the hit.

But what's weird is.. cfm isn't the only manufacturer to run CVTech cvts

B3 is too much for even the 1000s unless they are running 32s in the mud all the time. Takes all kinds I guess. Almost no one goes past B2.  Here's a little chart so you can get a feel of the preloads

But would I be able to walk the bike? Lol.

Now what does the degree mean? And how would it affect the bike performance? Fuel milage? Top speed?

I just found out the Kit I'd Called and EPI clutch kit. More details to come

I just made this to help visually see how much the spring gets twisted from its relaxed state to set on the helix ramps. This is why they call it "Clocking"

That helps!

B3 does seem agreeable for stock tires lol hahaha

Now I read up some info with CVTech themselves. So indeed I would go to a Heavier spring and different weights in the primary.

Link posted to their site.

Now I need to figure out which trail block is on my bike and what spring and weights to go with.

I have the actual maintenance manual but it doesn't say which blocI have.

You should talk directly with CV-tech themselves.
