I'm planning a 400-mile round trip excursion this summer. For those of you who have a little experience breaking down on the trail, what are the necessary replacement parts to take (other than a belt)? Not really looking for tool suggestions, once I get a list of parts, I'll build my tool list off of that. What about a jack, what works best on the trail? I'm thinking about just getting a scissor jack to keep it small and light weight. We have a 2023 Z950 HO Sport and have only put 200 miles on it so far.

We (my wife and I) might be making the trip alone so I want to be prepared. We appreciate any suggestions!

From other people and other machines besides the extra belt and things like tierod ends and axles, people always seem to focus on tires and tire repairs. I always take a full repair kit with plugs and patches and glue as well as a small DC air compressor and..yes..a small scissor jack..although with good 8-10 ply radial tires and some luck you (like me) may never need any of that but..but like my father always said- "It's better to have and not need...then to need...and not have".

Take an extra pre-oiled air filter in a zip-loc baggie for sure.

I appreciate the response. I'm not overly familiar with replacing tie rod ends or axles or any other suspension parts other than a shock, but that's exactly what I wanted to hear...thanks. I don't plan on replacing the stock Stag tires until they need it, so I'll be sure I have enough to repair a tire since they're only 6 ply tires. Didn't even think about an extra air filter, that's not a bad idea. Thanks again!

Welcome. As I recall the STAGS are like the ABUZZ before, a 2ply tire with a 6ply rating (6PR). Be sure to take extra tire repair stuff especially if this 400 miles has any sharp rock areas or cactus. Sidewall rips are common so some sheet patch might also be a good thing to have.

When are you doing this trip and where ?For the just incase you might want to think about taking 50ft or so of good rope.

Misc nuts, bolts and assortment of washers are always good to have on hand as well as the tire repair. First aid kit, spare belt gloves, tool kit... um...  a
Change of clothes. Tow strap, tool to spread your clutch. Just a few items that have prolly been mentioned.
