Light Bar????
« on: January 24, 2016, 03:43:24 PM »
Hi all, I don't get a chance to get on here nearly as much as I would like, and may have missed this somewhere but couldn't find anything on it. Where can I get a descent light bar that will not break the bank? I would like something that is bright and holds up to moisture, dust and anything else that off-roading may throw at it. I was looking on ebay and found that there were so many different kinds and sizes to look at that I got a little overwhelmed. I just don't want to pick one and it not be very good. I know that there are a lot of members on here with tons of knowledge that can steer me in the right direction. Thanks for any help that you may give.

I am a little unclear as to the power reserve these have for accessories and still have the stator keep up with the load but a sure bet is to see the accessory fuse's size. Generally if you stay at or under 10 amps you are pretty safe although I see some are putting 200+watt 48-50" light bars on theirs which is far greater then 10 amps and are having no problems. But check the draw on any unit you might consider. Try and keep it within the vehicle's limits...what ever that actually is.

This is what I have:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SB7RF52?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00

It's so bright that when you look into it you will see baby Jesus.

This light is amazingly bright. Like unbelievably bright.  It has been on my Zforce since new.  That's about 750 miles. It has survived rain, mud, snow, and many washes by the pressure washer.  I have about 5 or 6 hardcore night rides on it.  I like that the mounts are adjustable.  I was able to take the front roof bolts out and mount the light on the roll cage tabs. That being said, I just broke the mounts 2 days ago.  It took a direct hit from a low hanging tree.  I was going about 5 miles an hour and it stopped the machine dead in its tracks.  I was expecting the lens to be shattered or the housing broke it half.  After inspection I realized the the light bar split the branch in half.  I would buy this light again in a heartbeat.  It does make a high pitched whine when it is on.  It is inaudible with the CFMoto at idle.  I can't remember exactly but the claimed draw is about 17 amps.  I can't confirm that as I never measured.  Use a relay to be safe.  The prices on these bars have fallen dramatically.  It's half the price of what I paid for it almost a year ago.  I'd buy this light again in a heartbeat.
