Led bulbs
« on: June 19, 2017, 05:51:44 PM »
Anyone find some led plug and play bulbs that fit in the z800 projector housings?  I also keep getting fog in my 2 wk old 2017 zforce 800.  I already ran the vent tubes  from behind the radiator  to straight back above the cab separatation area. Any other pointers to solving that  issue?

I think it's been determined to be normal for some fogging after the lights have been run, i think it's more prominent when cold outside.  If you are actually getting water build up inside them then they have a bad seal.   My truck and my zforce both fogged up after use for the first few weeks but now they don't do it anymore.  Maybe it happens after they sit for a while and the moisture content in the headlamp doesn't get burned off from being run often.

i just went threw the led bulb issue in my zforce what i ended up doing was taking the bulb holder off the back of the light and used an air file and opened the hole so they fit and put them back in there is 4 little tabs on the corners take a small screw driver and bend them so they are straight and take holder off i got my bulbs from ebay

As far as the fogging..... mine is 2 years old and still fog a bit. I think its all about the climate you are in. My dealer even replaced them once.

Without reading this thread completely if you are talking about the Z's headlights fogging, just move the breather tubes away from the back side of the radiator. Pop the hood and you will see both tubes looping over the top. Just fix them to go over to the fenders...or anywhere where they can't get the heat and steam from water splashing that comes off the back side of the radiator. These:

Heck I was tempted to put a bolt inside it to stop the fogging. Mine are still behind the rad. I'll try moving them and see if it helps. If not I'll have the only SXS with "snorkled" headlights lol..

Just keeping the open ends way from heat and steam usually fixes it. Stupid place to put those....and they still do it.

Yeah I rerouted mine after the first ride, didn't help. I think its a design flaw of the headlights, if u run with your low beams on most of the time ( i do) the top part of the light heats up and the lower always stays cooler and fogs. It does help when Im out riding to alternate between high and low beam to even up the heat within the light, but still annoying it always fogs. they should have put a partition inside the light to separate the two areas so they would not fog. I was hoping that adding led bulbs, one for looks and the other is they burn cooler than halogen so hoping it would cut down the fogging.
