Seen others get sticks through plastics...even saw one post on FB where a guy got one through his leg  . Always watched sticks and their positions when going over them just because.. of what could happen. So..when I dropped over an edge and heard this loud bang and looked down..I had a few choice words to say to my new "occupant".. This is for those that think taking the plastic guard off the battery and airbox is a good idea...lol

That is one of my biggest concerns. A buddy of mine had a stick come through his gator wheel well and almost got his leg. A full skid plate wouldn't have helped because it came through the wheel well. Mcnasty customz  makes a inter wheel well guard for RZRs but not for cfmoto. So we are working on a design for the zforce. Stay tuned....

A few years ago the crew got a call to a nearby ex mine tailings area that's popular for motocross style riding. There's a quite steep hill maybe 100 yards (meters) long on one side. A fellow with a MX style bike was done his day's riding and he took off his gear at his pickup truck including his chest protector, and got ready to load his bike. Then he decided to go up the hill one more time.
He was going up the bike width hill trail when he came up to a previous rider who hadn't made it and this guy's bike was laid down. Our guy went around him partly in the bush so as not to lose his momentum, he figured to carry on around the downed guy and make it up the hill.
What he didn't see was a dead spike top that was pointing down the hill. It stabbed him, or rather he impaled himself on it, right through the heart. He was dead immediately.

You don't always see everything, and this can happen just as easily in a side by side.
Be aware.

Amazing how we were just talking about this last week. And it happened to you. We are working on that inner wheel well guard. Stay tuned....

NMK. I just read your signature. I see you have a custom skid/rockslider kit on there. Is that a full skid plate or just the rock sliders? Or did the stick just get passed it?

I only built steel outer armor from the frame to the rocker pannels and left the center the plastic but...I cut and bent-up the forward ends to flow with the inner front wheel well and partly seal-off that area. That stick got kicked up, slid along that flap to the upper edge and by then it was being propelled by the tire and right through the plastic. There's a spot in my second video I stopped the music so you can hear it. If that flap was just a little longer it wouldn't have happened...I might extend then a little. My plastic welder fixed it though so..no big deal.
