Too late! lol
but I turned it way down and there was a mark on the boot head to where it needed to go back to so no issues.  I was careful.

How do you hold the primary pulley while you tighten w a wrench ?  Oil filter wrench ?

Spanner tool. Some make their own..some buy a universal one. There's a pic of one in the manual under special tools needed to do clutch work.

WOW!! Took your advise on the penny’s, holy crap, it’s like I bought a new machine, no more revving to 3k and slamming the belt, I can cruise the trails without the machine feeling like it’s vibrating apart and I still have a top speed of 52, which is fine by me, between the C1 setting on the secondary and the penny’s under each weight (I put 2 on each, yes there’s room)all the rpm issues are fixed, I’m leaving it just like it is, none of my other machines take off so smooth-like it’s supposed to, you guys are great, thanks for all the advise, I hope some other 600 owners try the same thing, and the best thing is- it only cost 12 cents, 2 penny’s = 5 grams, use newer ones, old ones weigh more

Is C1 the stock setting? Or does this have to be adjusted too?

Thanks

I believe B1 is the stock setting on all CFMs

Will it have a similar effect by adding the weights and leaving the 2ndary setting as is?

Nope. One must always first adjust the secondary for any increase...or decrease in load as it is the helix that is torque-sensing. The primary is then adjusted as needed to alter applied forces for fine-tuning engagement,RPM shift ranges to maintain peak performance, and altitude compensation.

Hi all, new here with a new 600 Touring and would like to do this? What did you guys clock your secondary at? Assuming I'm at the stock B1 setting adding the 12 penny's.

For curiosity sake what did you clock yours at with this mod?

Thanks!

C1 worked good but I did end up going with B2 after a bit of riding, its all personal preference and how you ride imo, and I did take the advice of other members here and used the pennies to figure out what I wanted for weights and was able to find 14 g weights from the can am guy. They were very hard to find at the time like everything else. They seemed to grab a little quicker than I thought they should so I drilled the center slightly on all evenly using a digital gram scale. Comes down to trying different setup’s to see what you personally are happy with. Pretty sure my final weight was 12.75g, it was a while ago, it’s in one of the threads, good luck with the new machine
