Hi I'm a new Member and have a few Quick Questions.
« on: June 14, 2017, 10:27:07 AM »
Hi, I live in Northwest Houston and recently bought a 2013 CFmoto Zforce 600cc side by side. I got a pretty good deal on it because it wasn't running. They said it was running fine a week ago and suddenly just stopped? So I'm thinking a possible electrical problem. So I started right down the line and started with the battery etc. I ended up having to replace the battery, then the Starter relay Solenoid and finally the Starter switch. It starts up fine now and I've even drove it down the street a couple of times.

My questions is, I've never had a ATV or a UTV, when I slightly step on the accelerator it doesn't move much, it's almost as if the emergency brake is still engaged or something? Once I put my foot into it, it moves out nicely! Is that just a characteristic of the CTV setup?

Also one last question, now that it's running great again can anyone recommend any parts I should buy ahead of time and have on hand and are there any mod's that I should invest in now to make it run Optimally?

Thanks
Bob in Spring, Texas  (Northwest Houston)

If you think it might be hanging up just put it in neutral and see if you can push it by hand, they roll pretty easy on flat ground.  It sounds like it might be you just not used to a CVT clutch tho. I would check the air filter, if it's stock then you probably should use a foam and oil it/maintain it properly.

First: welcome to the group. There is a ton of knowledge here.

Generally CVT clutches engage at a specified rpm. I don't have any experience with CF clutches only Arctic Cat and Comet clutches.

I have one also. I have to push down the peddle pretty good to get mine going. You should get a new air filter and keep an oil filter handy. The air filter is the same as the Suzuki Vinson 500. These are foam and need oil. The oil filter, dealer or Hiflofiltro HF 682.  Change out the diff oils. I would check all the suspension and diff bolts and rear diff mounting bracket. I changed a lot of the grease zirks with 45 and 90 fittings(6mm).

Air filter!!! Go over all the nuts. Change all fluids.
I remember reading about 2013 600's having a reverse switch that was made a "wrong". When putting it in reverse too hard you could snap off a piece of it and would not be able to use reverse. But cfm corrected that.

The reverse issue was just a sensor that stuck out too far. If it breaks, ground the lead to the frame and get an updated part when you get back. If the reverse light stays on no matter what gear your in, the sensor broke.
