What did your dealer instruct you to do for the break in on your 2022 ho ex. What my dealer told me was way different from the manual. Any recommendations would me much appreciated! thanks 

My dealer didn't give break-in advice, trusting my judgement I like to think
That said, given the fine tolerance of modern ORV engines and the good properties of lubricants sold these days, break-in is mostly a series of things to avoid.
Avoid long idling,
Avoid high throttle settings of more than a few seconds (but do some)
Allow the motor to be well warmed up before doing that
Avoid long periods of same RPM operation, mix it up.
Change the break-in oil and oil filter early
If these things are done then belt and bearing break-in will follow suit.

There's a belief that 'babying' a new motor by using only light amounts of throttle for the first X number of miles won't allow the rings to properly seat to the cylinder, as ring design for the top two makes them press harder against the cylinder walls at higher throttle. The theory is that prolonged light throttle operation doesn't allow the cross hatch to seat the rings before that surface is worn smooth. Maybe that's the source of the phrase "ride it like you stole it" In any case in my experience giving it a few seconds of goose every now and then hasn't resulted in harm and maybe does a motor good. 
In any case I broke in my last four new ATV's as above. They run well and none of them consumed oil between changes, and I put a lot of miles (KM's) on my quads.
