Having trouble with editing and posting
« on: September 18, 2020, 06:11:48 PM »
Cannot edit post

Can't always recognize the verification letters and type what I think they are, when I submit and if the veferication letters I type in are incorrect, I lose the content of the post. I have done this post three times and having to start all over is trying my patience. Recognizing the verrication letters is very difficult.

Is there any way around that as it seems to me that a Login and Password should be sufficient. I am amazed that there is so much security for what this forum is all about. Thanks

We are having a problem with some new certification software that the owner and his web-guy are working on. I also can't edit any post but have no verification letters to deal with...so that's new. Did you verify your account with the email that was sent? I'll check to see if there is anything I can do to your account to stop all that BS. In the meantime hang in there and I'll let Jason know it's not fixed yet.

Hopefully they can get it fixed soon.  I don't have the verification letters to deal with either, but I can't start a new post at all.  I can reply, that's it.  I appreciate all that the admins do to keep this forum up.

Jason says they may have the editing and posting fixed and asked everyone to do some testing...so let the testing begin! :)
Test: Trying to edit this post.

@Old Stan Man the posting issue and editing post issue should be resolved (like you reported), but the verification settings are in place to prevent spam.

Unfortunately, we've had previous instances of bot accounts that'd create themselves and then spam our boards and topics so we implemented some additional features to help prevent that going forward.

However, those settings are currently only for members with fewer than 2 total posts so you shouldn't have to verify every time you make a post after successfully making your first two posts.  If, for some reason, you do continue to receive the verification images please let me know.

Everything is working fine now and yes, the verification did not show up after I posted a couple times. I understand the need for that a little better. Thnks for all the work you guys do.
