Front hub nut torque specs question.
« on: April 21, 2023, 10:48:04 PM »
2020 U force 800.
The information I have on the torque spec is 15-25 newton/meters which is 15 to 18.4 foot pounds.
Is this correct?
I would have thought that it would be much tighter considering it took a lot of effort to break it free. The parts were clean and rust free owing to the fact that I am in the Sonoran desert so it can't be from that.

If it is the axle nut that holds the hub to the knuckle bearings it will be greater then 70ftlbs. The book is a little hard to understand sometimes and it will list several specs in different places. They also get axle nuts and wheel nuts mixed up sometimes. Look for numbers like 100-120 N.m or 130-150 N.m down in the component sections. Mine down there shows 100-120Nm for the front axle nuts and 130-150Nm for the rears but up in the specs it has what you see...which is clearly wrong.
