First testing trip in the mountains
« on: September 09, 2016, 12:21:53 PM »
I hot a chance to spend some time in the mountains testing the rig. I was very happy with the results. The wife and I had a blast. I had done a lot of prepping before we took our day trip. Lots of ideas from the forum. (Thanks). Now I just have to install the new tires and scap doors before our next trip.

You may want to rethink the scap doors.  Best thing i ever did was get rid of that STUPID bar in the middle of the door opening.  Go with the russian doors and you will be MUCH happier.
I can imagine a world completely at peace.  A world where there are no weapons, no war, and no violence at all.  And I can imagine us taking over that world because they would never expect it.

I did look at the Russian doors. They are very nice, however I got a screaming deal on the scap doors from my local dealer. They had one set left and were not going to re-order any more because they had to order more than 20 sets at a time. I hope to make them work. Thanks for the feedback.

Please let me know how the scap doors are. I, actually like the way they're made.  Wanted Rodin to make a set like them. Stephan, from scap doors , emailed me recently out of nowhere and asked if I was still interested.  They're just under Rodins price and are 13.6lbs. Looks like they install in minutes.  Just know I can trust Rodins stuff and wanted some real world opinion of scap doors
Thanks.

I started mounting the passenger today.  My doors were for an 800, so one of the mounts are very different than my 600. I had to fab a mount (a little cutting and a little welding) other than that they are pretty much bolt on. I did get a great deal on them from my local dealer (the last one they had, display model, had some nick in the vinyl wrap) so I don't mind putting in a little extra work. I will get some better pics, but for now this will have to do. I am going to re-wrap the lower part of the doors (where the graphics are) with kryptek camo.

I would like to have a set of doors too. Just don't have the budget or time to do it. Even if you went with a strait gray wrap, they would look pretty good.

Awesome thing about Rodins doors that i dont hear much talk about are the fact that you can open the doors, then just lift them up and right off, just like a jeep wrangler door . There just pined on.
I absolutely love mine and so does my wife

Thank you,

I was going to also do the secondary air like you did, however I was quick to find out our upper intake tubes are different. I will have to modify a little more than I thought. Fun for another day.
