Being that the 1000s are not a shared-sump system...meaning that the transmissions are separate from the engine and that there isn't any wet clutch to consider, although there is no reason not to have JASO rating, if you have over 300 miles on it there is no reason not to go with a synthetic. My recommendation is to go with one formulated for use in an Gasoline engine and the higher RPMs and heat of a motorcycle. Lots of people go with oils for low RPM, sooty diesel engines like Rotella and have ..as far as they know...good luck with it. I have always preferred to use fluids formulated for the application..that's just me..crazy I know. I use..and have had excellent performance with Castrol products. I broke mine in on their conventional oil then switched over to their Power RS and Power1 T4 10W40 and 10W50. Everything just worked better and quieter, even the transmission. But...there are lots of good oils out there. Just pick one you can live with and stay with it. Also remember to change the transmission and the diffs as well. You can also go with a synthetic in those now too. I use a Valvoline 75W90 synthetic but sence my rear gear case is having an issue, I went back to a 80/90 conventional cause I an changing it every 100 miles or so.

Not really. For the 800s, people use the ones for the Rotax 800s but there is a nipple and seal difference that could..could...cause some bypassing under the right conditions. I refuse to take the risk and just use the factory oil filter. But if you find one that says it is for the 1000, it's probably OK.

Hey Ponytail, yes i do on the Particle Separator plumbing. I have them under Particle Separator Plumbing on page 4 here in General Discussion. It has worked out great, the indent in the front of the bed allows for the 90 degree fitting to go through the back and not take up room in the cab between the seats. I am highly pleased with the unit, my Uni filter stays looking fresh ( I have only cleaned it once when I did all the fluids ) I can still have my tool box to boot.

Found it. That looks good. Did you connect it to the intake the way NMK did?

I used the stock intake tube for now. The square end of the rubber 90 degree elbow that came with the kit fit perfectly up to the square end of the stock intake tube. I cut out the tube, ( trimmed the lip a bit on the 90) and it actually snapped into the land area of the 90 almost perfectly. I JB welded it for cheap insurance, put it all together and without the separator running, I was only pulling a 1/4” of vacuum at the filter box drain hole from idle to WOT. I think eventually maybe in the off season, I will re plumb to include the CVT, the separator has plenty of CFM’s to supply both, even though I probably don’t need to but you know how that goes LOL

Buzzard, how much noise does the fan make? Can you post a sound clip? I'm trying to decide whether or not to port it to the inside of the cab and if I do it will be close to our heads. Don't need much extra noise.
