I am coming up on 11 months since I purchased my C800EPS. I have received a quote of $730.00 to add an additional 2-years of warranty. This is supposed to be an $150.00 discount from the list price.
Obviously, there is list price and selling price for these aftermarket warranties in the U.S. I have seen another owner post that he paid only $399.00 for the same coverage on a new vehicle.
My question is what companies have you had good luck with and is there any reason I can not buy this "insurance" direct and bypass the dealer entirely?

That seems ridiculously overpriced.  I think I paid less than that for 4 years through Rider's Advantage but it was at purchase time, and offered by the dealership.  It was a negotiation.

I bought a motorcycle and didn't like the dealer price on an extended warranty. I called around later and the 5 places I found only one would sell directly to the consumer and they wouldn't do it anyway because the bike was 3 years old. too old for them.

I never buy extended warranties. Think of it as a lifestyle: If you buy extended warranty on your quad then likely you buy it on your TV, your lawn mower, your vaccuum cleaner... you get the picture. Now if you add up all those premiums, even if you do collect (or rather have a claim that's not denied!) on one of them, that exceeds the premium you paid for that one, still what about all those other premiums? And what if you have no compensateable claims on any of them? Then all your premium money was wasted!
And seeing as the extended warranty is the biggest profit maker in a retail sale, the chances are great that you will pay considerably more than you will receive.
Can't tell you how much extended premium money I've kept over the years.

Agreed. An extended warranty is usually wasted money on most things. But with the cost of parts and labor on motor vehicles, $1,000 doesn't go far these days.
I would probably bite for $400 or $500. But once you get around $800 I think I might roll the dice.

Generally I never buy them as well, in fact, this is the only time I think I have.  At the time, I was concerned about buying CFMOTO and as has been pointed out, repairs don't take long to get into the $1k range or more.  Can't remember exactly what I paid, but it ended up being under $200/year, and that seemed like reasonable insurance.

Edit:  I went back and looked at my sale paperwork and I paid $800 for 4 years of extended warranty.  Rider's Advantage.  I forgot what their initial quote was, but I remember flatly declining it, and then they offered the reduced amount.

I have Riders Advantage and overall its been good. However you cannot bypass the dealer that I know of, in fact if I take it somewhere other then where it was bought its 50 bucks.

So far the Front Diff has been replace after it was destroyed, as well as both rear cf shafts after they snapped.

I bought the bike used, and that warranty was a huge part of me actually going though with the purchase.

I have the writers and adVantage extended warranty, I bought it at the time I purchased my zforce so far there has not been one single thing they have denied they've covered throttle cable rebuilt rear differential all for new engine mounts they have been flawless totally worth the extra money A friend of mine even got them to cover ball joints and a arm bushings on a Can-Am Commander

Here in Europe we habe a 2 year warranty on all new CFM's. It is here the Law to give that warranty.
CFM pays for the parts and a fixed labour price, regardless of the time you need te repair the machine.
There is only 1 think the don't pay: the belt.

I found a aftermarket warranty company you can buy your extended warranty through direct you can get up to 5 year coverage on your atv/sxs  and it covers the same as a manufactures warranty, The company is
