EFI light on
« on: January 02, 2022, 11:31:05 AM »
After our riding trip this weekend I noticed that the EFI light was on on my cforce 400. I tried disconnecting the battery overnight but it came on as soon as I turned the key. I was able to jump the data connector and count a 0134 code. According to google it’s a loss of activity from the O2 sensor. Alpha sports shows the sensor is part number 018B-176000 and costs $167. Being a Bosch fuel system, would this number cross to anything automotive? I found some on eBay for $39.90 but they come from china on a slow boat.

Although I have always got my stuff from Alpha-Sports, they are NOT the cheapest. I was able to cut my costs 40% on my last project by going through CFMotopartsusa.com. Still..way to high for Chinese parts IMO. Do inspect the connector. And although it is a Bosch management system (ECU), some parts are pure CFM. Not that there isn't a cross-ref somewhere.

I found a used in good condition Cfmoto o2 sensor on eBay. It was $24.99 and will be here Thursday. I’ll let you guys know if it works.

Even cheaper:

http://www.mortchmotor.com/CFMoto-CF600cc-CF625-EFI-Oxygen-Sensor-018B-176000-0258006937

I see a giant list of CFMotos that this O2 sensor will fit.
Their chart does not go up to 2021 or 2022.

Question: is a "ATV  2020  CF600AU-L(EU168)  CForce 600"  the same as a USA 2021 CForce 600 Tour?

Thx if someone knows....

YMMV

I say they are. But can't confirm. I would look up the part number and see if they were the same...and if so, you have your answer.

Just wanted to update the forum,
I received my new to me o2 sensor last Thursday. I got a chance to install it this morning. I spent 5 minutes putting the sensor in and 4hours on google trying to find a way to turn the light off without the factory scan tool. I tried ALL of the tricks. None worked! I jumped the plug and verified that I was still only seeing the original p0134 code which I was. I don’t know why I tried this but it works. At least it did for me on this cforce 400. With the key and ignition slider switch ON, but engine off, let the light flash continuously without the jumper wire in the plug. It won’t be reading the code, just flashing that there is a fault. While this is happening, I disconnected the battery. Once I put the cables back on the light was gone. It still does the check out on startup but doesn’t flash an error anymore. Hope this helps someone else too.

I'm curious. I've always been under the impression that the ECU will turn off the light when the condition is corrected, but you've effected it by disconnecting the battery.

I wonder if you would be willing to run a test and put the old sensor back in and see if the light stays off or returns?

None ..up to a certain point (apparently) retained the error code and it was there until corrected...your right. From what he says his does/did retain it...yet there is no mention of this in the manuals I read. It might be a 2021-22 thing. I would be interested in the test too. Maybe just unplug it, see if it comes on, then plug it back in and see if it stays on and has to be cleared again.

I pulled the little 400 out to play in the fresh snow yesterday. It ran great and the light stayed off. At this point I’m a little scared to go playing with the efi light by unplugging stuff. I just don’t want to mess with it. If it ain’t broke kind of deal.
