ran into similar problems here.
Couple weeks ago it just died while driving. Coasted to a stop and would not start after a couple turns of the key. Finally did and turned tail for home. Died 3 more times enroute. Last 2 times it died but did not stall and kept going. Maintained power to the machine (ie all lights, and dashboard lite up when key turned and no warning lights on dash). Into the dealer and they suspected corroded lines at battery and starter solenoid. They cleaned them up and added di-electric grease. I picked it up and drove it home (30 min drive) without any issue.
Took it out yesterday and on my way to the trails it sort of stuttered a bit once. I was doing about 60kmph, engine at 2 bars for heat and it almost felt like it dropped a gear for a split second. It did not stall so I just thought maybe i took my foot off the gas a bit for it to drop like that. Hit the trails for about 30 min so it was slower driving and engine temp was 3-4 bars. Stopped a couple times both just idling and full power off and continued driving without issue. Then all of a sudden in mid-ride it shut down again. This time it would not restart. All lights had power including dash with the electrical warning light on solid. I could hear the starter click but absolutely no turn over of the engine.
Checked starter, battery and all electrical connections and all seemed good. Then lost my 10mm socket in the weeds and pulled the cover under drivers seat to inspect fuses (with 11mm socket and a lot of swearing). Fuses were ok. Just let the machine rest while i waited for a rescue and even after sitting for an hour it would not start.
Once help arrived we tried giving it a boost but no joy. Machine did have power since i had to winch it onto the trailer.
Oh and i did follow all wiring as far as I could by hand while trying to troubleshoot and although some were touching obvious hot parts they were all wrapped with cable wrapping and could not see/feel any obvious damage.
This is a 2017 ZForce 800. (4000km) and she's sitting on the trailer still waiting to go back to the dealer to try and figure out what is going on.
I'm no mechanic but I am assuming this must solely be an electrical issue no? No chance of water pump or other non-electrical part being the culprit?
