In these situations it would be nice for the cv shafts to break instead of the diff.

It's a no win, think of it as the crumple zone. Pick your poison, babies would complain the axles are junk  :)

Diff came in this afternoon I split it just to take a look cause it is used and I found a axle clip on the magnet on the drain plug. So glad I opened it up....
Guess that comes with buying used parts.

Did you get it back together yet, I hope the used parts worked out for you.

Yes sir put it in the day it came took about an and a half took it back to the same park and walked all over the hill that broke it. I believe the diff was on its way out cause the old one never sounded or shifted easy this new one shifts instantly and doesn't make a sound. On another note I noticed one of my u joints where sloppy so I replaced it fyi the hardest u joint I have ever done I also put two 1/4 inch rubber washers on each side of the axle carrier barring where it mounts to the frame to isolate some drive line vibration seamed to help alot. I placed one on the bottom and one under the bolt.

Damn you didn't waste any time getting it up and running, good thing you need to sleep (I assume) or your wheels would never stop spinning ;D, glad it worked out. Are you running that Gates belt, as hard as you run it would be good for all of us to know if it is a good replacement option.
