Dealer support
« on: February 21, 2018, 01:17:06 PM »
I absolutely LOVE my 2016 800. There is nothing about it I don't love...except the dealer support. I currently have it in the shop for some warranty work. Fortunately I bought the extended warranty. The problem is, there are only 2 dealers with 200 miles of me and neither of them have time to work on CF motos. They are too busy working on other brands, One dealer, the one I purchased my car from is 50 miles away. Twice I have contacted them for warranty work and been denied both times. The second dealer is 95 miles away and they wont give me the time of day. I had to take my car 259 miles to another state to get warranty work done.

As much as I love my car, I would probably not buy another one just for that reason alone. I certainly couldn't recommend one to a friend. I really feel like CF MOTO owes me something for the 500 miles I will travel for warranty work. This is really completely unacceptable...

OK, Rant off for now...

Now I have no knowledge in this field, especially as I'm not in the same country, but wouldn't this be grounds for such dealers to lose the franchise? It's hard to imagine it being legal (or rather compliant with the terms of carrying a make) for a dealership to just pocket the profits of selling new vehicles and then tell buyers to go away and don't bother them with warranty work.

Yeah...I would think so too. This should be reported to CFM-USA.

That's kinda ridiculous.  Think I'd follow NMK's advice and complain about that.  That dealer must have a great business if they can flat out turn down business, knowingly pissing off a customer/refusing to do service work.  Wow.

I will probably look into complaining to CFM-USA...if I can find out how to get in touch with them.
Last time my car needed warranty work, I had to do it myself. I had to buy the part and install it because I couldn't get a dealer to look at it.
Just a bit frustrating...

OK, I emailed CF moto USA today and explained my issue. happy to say they have already responded. I did tell them I look forward to hearing their remedy to this problem.
I figured I have had to travel 940 miles to take my car to the dealer and to bring it home (4 one way trips at 235 miles each) at 11miles per gallon (85 gallons) at $3.35 per gallon.

that's almost $300.00 in fuel, 940 miles of wear and tear on my truck not to mention the more than 16 hours of driving time.

And this because the local dealer (54 miles away) is "to busy" to work on the car they sold me...heck they wanted a minimum of 2 weeks just to do an oil change...

What remedy should I expect from CF Moto?
What would you expect?

Personally, I'd think it a bit of a long shot to expect any repayment of your travel costs, and I say this because these costs were undertaken without the knowledge or prior 'approval' of the manufacturer. Yes I understand that it was rather 'forced' because of your need for service and the refusal of the more local dealers to work on the machine, but organisations work that way.
It might not have been unreasonable for you to have contacted CF Moto and explain the problem before undertaking the long drives, to tell them that this was going to be necessary because the two closer dealers refuse to do the work you need done.

As for the dealers however, I'd think that unless CF Moto is so desperate to have a dealership represent their marque in your area that they are willing to accept such dereliction of responsibility as these places showed, then CF Moto ought to take the position that "If you don't have time to service our brand then you don't have time to sell them, and your franchise will be terminated." "You make CF Moto look bad by extension, and we cannot permit that."

I'd expect no reimbursement from CFmoto. The best they will probably do is say they will contact the closest dealer to you to get you in for work.

You are he winner.
I was not actually expecting any monetary remedy with CF Moto.
They did however tell me they would pass my concerns along to the closest dealer. I could not recall the 2nd dealers name and after looking, I cannot find them in the CF Moto dealer directory.

After a few days I got a response from a lady at CF Moto stating they had brought my concerns to the dealer. I was given the name of a contact at the dealer just in case I run into this situation again.

All I was really hoping for was a commitment from CF Moto and the dealer that this would not happen again. It sounds like I may have gotten that commitment. With any real luck, Ill never need it.
