Cutting out only in High or Low

21 ZF 800 Trail 1500 miles, just out of warranty.
When I punch the throttle in reverse i can leave rubber, yet when i push gas beyond idle in high or low (going forward) the machine cuts out without stalling. Does not matter if in 4wd or 2wd. Checked all fuses, relays, connections, ECU. Stumped as to what to check next??? Any suggestions?

IMO..that's exactly backwards as to how it should be. In reverse the completed grounding circuit for the reverse light also causes the ECU to initiate an RPM limiter. I have a video in the How To section on how to eliminate this so it acts more like yours does in reverse. Yours...is no longer providing that grounding circuit in reverse but is in the other positions. The first place I would look is the gear selector indicator switch and it's connections as somehow..something had become crossed or damaged. If you unplug it completely, you will not have any position indicators in the pod but you may also not have this limiter problem. If so...I would be thinking about replacing that switch. But while there look for any problem in the harness like pinching, burning, corroded connectors..anything weird. This is just my opinion on what's happening. The same kind of shorting can also happen in the pod itself from moisture. If you have ever seen any fogging, might consider this too.

Thank you for the reply.  I eliminated the rev limiter like your video and all is well now. I can live w/o it.

Ok but..you do know there is something happening...right? Maybe it's run it's course...maybe not.
