« on: June 24, 2016, 10:22:54 AM »
alright guys need some direct opinions , have taken wet clutch delete out , as of my previous post , putting all back together , been using the 22g dr pulley weights , i have read in a few post the dr pulley weights have been wearing the clutch a bit , thinking of filing down stock weights to 22g , to get same results with smoother engagement , any thoughts or advice on this , waiting for feed back before install , thanks

I don't know of any wear issues with the Dr. Pulleys sliders and I have not seen any on mine. Because of the size and operation of the rollers you won't get the same performance out of then as you did with the sliders on the low, top end and back shifting. On mine I have placed a piece of dry UniFilter material over the inside of the CVT intake grill along with the stock pad as well and that seems to keep the bulk of the dust out preventing a lot of wear. I also puff a little weapons-grade graphite on the sliders and the tracks before assembly, then blow-off the extra and wipe down the clutch sheaves with acetone prior to full assembly. Maybe this is why I am not getting any weird wearing.

To lighten the stock rollers, you should turn the ID in a lathe. You might be able to file them out but it will take forever and have to constantly have to weigh them. Search 30x18 rollers in the weight you want. Regular ones are cheap.

after the crap wet clutch problems i'm just trying to find best combination for what i'm doing , runing 28 bighorns , only going to do this one more time ,i don't do a lot of steep hills at all just looking for the quick take off and the low end power when i'm in the mud , but want to try to keep the top end ,, i want the best of both worlds , lol

Hey john, I've got 29 inch bighorns on ours, I clocked the clutch to the c1 position and used dr pulley sliders in the stock weight, pretty much kept the bottom end and don't think I lost much if any top end.

Last time I checked it was, 72 mph. Seems it took just a little longer to get there, but I can
Live with that.
