changing the steering wheel?
« on: October 18, 2022, 06:47:09 PM »
I have been looking at aftermarket steering wheels so i can replace the stock one on the machine.2018 cf moto zforce trail 800.
I've seen several i like and i know a few of you have changed yours.
When changing it do i need an adapter for the new one,and should i get a puller or do it the old school way.
Any kind of info would be of major help.Any certain brand of steering wheel
should i get..........Thanks......bob

Something I've contemplated now for a while. As I recall the CFM steering wheel's hole pattern to the hub may be different then standard so the adapter hub may be necessary. I also think...but can not confirm that the shaft splines may also be a problem as it too like most all things Chinese is a copy of another manufacturer then changed just enough to side-step patient or copyright issues...but may not be an issue as others have not mentioned it being a problem. I want one with a flat bottom to aid in getting in and out easier. Post your findings...with pics! :)  Oh and I think the hub comes right off when the nut is removed so no puller needed..unless it's rusted.

I guess i will need to pull the steering wheel off and take a
look. The one with the flat bottom is what i want to change to.Seems like i've
put on some extra girth in the last few months.
Thanks again NMK
