Noticed while on a ride a while back there was a click coming from steering the unit side to side, so i assumed it was tie rod ends like any other ATV ive ever owned. come to find out its not that, but slack inside the electronic power steering box. checked with dealer, and even after a request to CFMOTO warranty, its too old and not covered. the replacement part for that specific unit (power steering) is over $1k

so obviously im not looking to put that kind of money into it. i was told by dealer that a non power steering unit (just a plate on the shaft to bolt the tie rods to) would run about $120. much cheaper option and not having power steering really isnt an issue for me. the non PS unit comes from the same year model, but a 400cc ATV instead of a 500cc ATV. i was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue, or if they could lead me in the correct direction of this repair. any help is appreciated!!

Maybe it is just the dampener inside powersteering broken. Have you seen this video?

Hi,
Was the clicking noise the dampener?
This has happened to my Cforce 550eps 2018
I think l moved the handle bars to straighten the wheels while engine
was off and l think it put a strain on something in steering.
Ever since it clicks/taps at the slightest movement of the steering. Exactly like the video.
The dampener cost like £2.00. just waiting for someone to sort it for me.
Has anyone fitted theses before?
Thank you.
