CFMOTO Z600 seat belt limiter?
« on: February 09, 2021, 11:53:33 PM »
Evening folks,

I am a new owner of a 2013 Z600-3.  Previous owner installed nice dragon 5 point harnesses in the machine.

The wires are not spliced together and retain the original connector with the ‘spring’ on one side of it.

I’ve read though that some models have a limiter and folks needing to either splice the two wires or instal a plug.

Is this the case with a Z600?  (Non-EX)

I have not driven it at speed greater than 10 MPH yet as I need to service the fluids, flush the radiator and change the brakes so I have not yet been able to ascertain whether a limiter is ‘kicking in.  The seat belt light does flash (obviously)

Anyone have experience with the Z600 who can tell me if the seat belt wires need to be spliced?

Much obliged

Mark

The 2013-2016 Z6 & Z8's only had a seat belt indicator light in the dash, no RPM limiter. The two wires are either connected or not to remove that indicator. I did mine when I installed the new belts but it's been do long I forgot which way. Simple enough though.

Much obliged!   That's a relief!  I have to add adjustment of the shift linkage to my list now though.. bummer  :o   Stiff getting into low gear and have to hold the shifter in low i order to make sure it stays in place.   Something about taking off the PAX seat and the center cover, placing in neutral and looking at some sort of detents. Still browsing the service manual for the solution.  (thank you for providing it :)

Any whoo thats outside the topic of this particular post,  if I have any issues Ill post a specific 'shift adjustment' topic.

Much obliged, thanks again!
