CF moto power increase
« on: April 08, 2018, 04:08:49 PM »
Hi.
I got CF moto 550 2017 and I am running it on 28inch tires.  I need to get some more power from it because of the tires.  Any idea what would good to do.

clocking the secondary if you haven't. I think ppl are saying C1 works good on the smaller engine. If you want a little higher rpm engagement you can also go with lighter weight dr pulley sliders for the primary.

I have the same question, and no experience with reclocking. What might be the best setting for a Uforce 800 with 28" tires, and about 80 lbs. Of supplies / gear? B-2? My normal terrain ranges from desert, to rocky and steep, to mountains.

Suggestions appreciated!

B2 is a good setting for any 800 with tires up to 29s.

Yeah...its a term used in increase or changing spring resistance on the secondary. Many others just change the spring.. but these use one spring, are anchored on either ends and you increase the spring tension by positioning those anchors in different holes, then twisting the helix to set on it's ramps when coming back together. That amount of "twist" is degrees from zero..and the reference is like the 12:00 position is zero and the degrees or preload is like the hands sweeping. Think of it as looking down on a degree wheel:

Now take a look at this clocking chart for these:

Videos here by NMK and another explain this...watch them all, and pay attention to the details. Some tool making may be required as well.

Watch the videos, it is a pretty simple idea. Hardest part is making or buying a tool to hold the clutches to retorque them after. Sometimes getting the secondary nut off is hard too. If you know anyone who has worked on snowmobile clutches they will be able to figure it out with the video.
