And, to hopefully clear up a common complaint about the Mud Nats videos: the SuperATV Z8.

Going into the event, I was of the understanding that we would have a fully-functioning unit coming from SuperATV, so I pushed the notion that we'd have a cool vehicle to show off in the mud.  SuperATV was under the impression that they were bringing a showcase machine to park in front of the trailer and show people the prototype parts they'd been working on for us (A-arms, portal gear, etc.)

So, when the machine showed up, the suspension wasn't properly bolted to the frame, and none of the electronics were sealed (hence taking it in the mud would fry the wiring).  It was a cool proof-of-concept, and a good conversation piece for the people that were there at the event, but it ended up undercutting the setup I'd done to unveil the thing in the wild.

So, sorry for under delivering on the rig, guys.  That's the story on that one.

We all KNEW something was up when almost every single comment on Youtube was directed at the SuperATV promo rig, and everyone affiliated with CF Moto was silent on the situation. I think I even speculated that it was meant to be a promo ride, and as such may have not been properly completed to perform like we all expected it to. Without snorkels, we all knew it wouldn't last long.

I'm also thinking if CF Moto wants some action videos that we collectively can agree on, why not make some ourselves and pass them along to CF Moto US ? We all know what we want to see. Maybe we can have them edited and cleaned up to be used as a promotional tool for the brand ? I say take advantage of rider submitted videos and lets do some grass roots videos that can help advertise.

cfmotoguy, Thanks for joining. You should add that you are from CFMoto down in the bottom of your posts. This should let people know who you are and keep things clear. Your posts are welcome and look forward to seeing more of CFMoto out there.

Yeah, Walkintarget, it wasn't anybody's fault, but the communication breakdown really blew the situation.

As far as the user-submitted videos, that's a great idea--maybe I'll do a video submission contest and give a prize to the coolest shots, and then put together a mashup of all the cool footage. That's going on the stolen ideas list for sure!

What matters is that somebody from CF Moto is here. Thats moving in the right direction.

Welcome to the madness! Get us some more dealers in Northern West Virginia....

Welcome Greg. Pleasing to see someone from the company taking the time to visit here.
Although here in Australia we don't have the same problems/rules you do there, the lack of local promotion of the CF Moto brand (other than preaching to the converted, I get emails every couple of weeks from HQ) is still disappointing. My local dealer often tells me he 'bangs his head' in frustration when dealing with head office. The brand as a whole has really good things going for it (both quads and bikes) and with good promotion could be the best value for money on the market, if the people know about it.

Though I've never spoken to this Chad, fella, Chris and I have had some lengthy conversations.

I will say, that as a dealer for CFMoto, I have to agree. I too am very let down by what CFMoto has brought to the table as far as marketing thus far. The showing at the Texas Mud Nationals, and the 6 day youtube series didnt help the brand. At all. Lots of footage of the event. Lots of footage of PARKED CFMoto units. But NO action footage, especially of the dolled up SuperATV unit. It LOOKED nice, but we saw NO action. By the time I was done watching the videos, I was wondering if I had some how managed to find my way onto the Events channel, because the videos seemed more like event coverage, and not videos to sell anyone into a CFMoto product.

I had a few off roading blogs and magazines contact me looking for marketing contact information, and as far as I know, after I forwarded that info, nothing was done since.

While I understand CFMoto USA was given a piss-poor excuse of a marketing budget for this year, the least that could have been done is use what money that was given wisely. SHOWING up to the event does no one any good if you arent out there DEMOING the model. Putting it through the very crap customers are out there doing to theirs, or other OEMs are doing with theirs. I've spent a good deal of money marketing these units on Facebook, Craigslist, local Radio, billboards... but nothing from CFMoto, which in the end, does me no good when customers see a local dealer pushing a brand they've never heard of on a national level.
