C-Force 520, Misfiring/Electrical issue
« on: February 09, 2024, 01:28:54 AM »
Gday everyone, please bare with me as this is my first post in the forum, hopefully this is in the right place 👍

I’ve got a query about a CF Moto C force 520, 2022 model. My father has had the bike for around 4800km now and it has been faultless, hasn’t ever caused us any trouble. Up until recently. When you turn the ignition on, with head lights off, you’ll have all of your Hi, Lo, reverse, neutral and park on the screen on the handle bars. With the head lights turned on, none of those work at all. Blinker function will not work, hazards and the horn do however, with the headlights turned on.

That isn’t such an issue as it still drives fine. But when the engine in the bike revs up to about 5000rpm it feels very lacking in power and has a miss in the engine.  Father has said to me when it happens he stops right away, but he predicts if he kept at it the bike would stop completely. It starts and stops as new, so it’s a little over our heads. Mechanically the bike is very basic, and hasn’t ever been an issue. But the electrical side of it has been an issue now. Father thinks it could be something to do with the reverse override switch playing up with it, wires may have worn through although we aren’t entirely sure. Our dealer is useless to us and if we take it back they’ll have it for months and not fix it. So we’d like to have a Quick Look at the potential issue to see if we can fix it ourselves.

Any suggestions or thoughts on what it could be, as weird as this issue is, would be very appreciated 😁👍

Welcome. The missing at high revs could be a blocked fuel filter (in either tank or lines) that will only let a small dribble of fuel through, which is enough at low speed but will not let enough through for high engine speeds. The electric problem may be the reverse switch, but I would be lifting off the plastics and tracing the wires looking for a wear point.

I could agree with Murdo. Check your wiring harness for wear points.
