Buying my first side by side
« on: September 22, 2016, 10:01:54 AM »
Hello everyone my name is Kevin and I'm from eastern Pennsylvania. First before I get into my topic I want to say this forum is awesome and have found out a lot of information in my few days on here.

With that said I am looking at buying my first sxs. I have looked extensively at all manufacturers and have it down to the uforce 500 and a John Deere gator 590i. Now I know this is a cf forum and the reason I am asking for input is other than this forum I haven't been able to find much out about the uforce 500 which has me concerned just a hair. I'm not sure if it is because it is fairly new or if it is because it is Chinese made and you know how a lot of people are about atv/utvs from China.  I really like the uforce 500. The only bad thing I have hear on it was it was louder in the cab vs a lot of other sxs. Is there any other info you all could give me about this machine that could help with my decision between the two.

Thanks everyone

CFM is head and shoulders above any other Chinese ATV/UTV manufacturer and the U-Force is a good choice for a utility SXS however the 500 is new enough that IMO not all the bugs are worked out yet but by the 2017 models they should be. However comparing a CFM or any other to a John Deere...well, as everyone knows, John Deere is unparalleled in quality, service and reliability...so much so that there really is no comparison. If I were to be looking to a utility SxS, and both were in the same price ball park, the green one would be the one coming home with me. Now if I wanted a little sport fun with my purchase...well the lines get blurred a bit.

I would have to agree about choices. The bottom line is how much are you willing to spend. The extras for the gator are probably going to more expensive as will be any parts replacement once the warranty is done. Just something to think about. I think they are both great machines that will get the job done.

Can't knock the Deere I completely agree, with you two. I guess I would ask just what its main function would be, fun/work or a mix of both. How much is the upkeep in maintenance, and what I have to spend up front, length of warranty and what features I wanted in a SXS.
Personally, if I were getting a Uforce I'd opt for the 800 that has had been out for a bit.
Probably be the same bottom line as an equally equipped Deere.
