I was just wondering when Cfm switched from injected colored plastics to actually painting their panels? My 2016 z500 has injected black plastic panels (which scratch very easily) and the papers show it was actually manufactured in mid 2015. What sparked my question was while watching some of NMK's videos I observed the sheen on his plastics and they appeared to be painted and his is a 2015 model and was probably manufactured sometime before mine was. Yes, they switched from injected color to paint.

My '17 is injected color. My brothers 2019 is painted.

Mine is supposed to be painted and was made early 2015 (I think). I have not had any issues but some have had it chip and sections flake off on some of the early painted panels. The guy I used to ride with that I got the doors from was one.

If yours are painted and mine are not and if Doug's being a 17 model are injected plastics like mine then maybe the Chinese were experimenting painting some panel sets for the units during manufacturing. I was just wondering anyway no big deal...there are better issues to discuss on these machines.

IDK..mine seems awful damn smooth for paint...but they say it is. 

The painted panels have a high gloss to them. The plastic colors are dull by comparison.
