I haven't needed to but those that did just buy another one the same size and put it in the extra battery compartment under the driver's seat. Then either run cables parallel to the OE battery or better, add an isolator on the positive lead that connects when the key is on and/or can be manually engaged for those times when necessary. Cake.

One of the things I recommend is installing a USB port with a battery voltage readout..or just a batter voltage readout. That way you can see if there is a charging problem and get back before the battery(s) are depleted. There are extra spots on the dash for them. I installed one close to my steering column..think I have a pic somewhere....let me see...Yeah..not a great one but you can kinda see it glowing down there.

I had another one..just a readout but it seems silly having two so I took it out. But for a while it was handy. Here's a pic.

Well I'm only 62 myself but I'm still not interested in a long walk due to a depleted or damaged battery. What I decided to do to be prepared, is carry one of the light lithium battery boosters available these days for probably less than the cost alone of another battery.
With this thing if I need I can boost the battery, I don't have the weight penalty of a whole nother service battery, I can boost someone else with it if necessary (or charge a handheld device), and I don't have to install and wire anything. :)
That appeals to my lazy side.

I don't know about the display on the side by sides but my display on my CF800 gives you the voltage reading of the battery when you go through the options speed , revs ,  mileage and if it drops below 12.7 volts it come up on the display automatically .
