All the years riding dirt bikes I never insured any of them.  Now that I'm stepping up to a 4 wheeler I was wondering what to do about it.  Any thoughts?  Thanks.

I don't but I'm told I should. If I rode more or in more risky situations or there was the possibility of it being stolen, I would give it more thought. Just me though.

I just ask myself if I can afford to replace it. If I can't pay cash for another one, I will insure it. Might be some liability insurance in the policy, than might be worth looking at.

I have both mine insured for fire, theft and damage while in transport for around $50 per bike per year. The catch is that as soon as I roll off the trailer onto a trail then I am on my own (and I accept that) for any damage or loss.

I wonder about liability, though.

I'm insured for $1,000,000 liability here in Canada for $238.00 / year. have no choice....it's the law for all trails off of your own property.

I've got full coverage through USAA and it's not that much. Especially for peace of mind.
Had a 2017 Zforce 800EX, traded to a 2020 Uforce 800

I pay about $200/year for full coverage on my Zforce thru Progressive.  For the peace of mind, it's worth it.

I got liability, fire and theft. I figure if I smash it up its on me but if someone steals it I want it covered. But my biggest concern is having an accident with another ATV/UTV. Some of the trails we ride are pretty narrow and they are not one-ways.

My insurance is due next week - currently looking at paying $298 for full insurance on my Wildcat Trail, to give you some comparison on another SxS. I had a BIG claim back in 2011 on a totaled ATV - Allstate paid me more than I paid to BUY it. That's down about $100 from what it was last year after I bought it. I've been with Allstate for everything since I started driving in 1986.

They gouged me around $392 for that year. I was not happy, and called them to complain. Note that I was paying $120/yr full insurance on my ATV, so I questioned why the big jump in $$. They told me it was due to the fact there were 2 seats in the SxS, so I told them based on that thought process, I was happy paying them $240/yr for the SxS (twice the price of the ATV). Needless to say, they didn't subscribe to that logic.
