Me and my wife bought a 2016 zforce 800 trail and have had it in the shop for a coolant leak. The shop told us that it was a fairly common ordeal for it to weep a little coolant out of the vent tube for the water pump but that they had ordered a new mechanical seal for it. They told us to monitor it, and if it gets any worse to bring it back in and they'd repair it, but they said that a few others have done this and they are just fine. I was just wondering if anybody else has had this issue, and if it's caused any problems? We have a 5 year warrenty on the machine but I still want to take good care of it. I also immediately replaced the factory paper air filter with a UNI dual layer foam filter. Also, any upgrades you'd recommend?

Welcome. Yes, most of is have had the same leak at the water pump. Most were small and quit within about 200 miles. Some were worse by a little and didn't stop. Those got new seals. And others with this leak changed out the coolant for a name brand and that stopped it. Mine had a slight leak that stopped in a short time... and oddly as it sucked in Preston from the bottle to replace what was lost at the weep.

Upgrades: You have the first and most important, the air filter. Next-tires.

I had this same problem. The leak started at around 200.  I'm around 1400 miles now with no issues.  I did dump the factory coolant as it started to gel in the radiator.  I flushed it real good and filled it with green antifreeze.

My 500 zforce has 125 miles on it and would leave a puddle while idling and dealer said it should have stoped by now so they told me to bring it in and would replace the water pump and seals

Mine leaked from day one. I think the "breakin" is just a "maybe" thing, because I have about 250miles on mine since I personally replaced mine and did the service bulletin with no leaking at all.

They say it's the seal, but I beleave there actually leaking out around the spring seals steel bushing, the part that's pressed in.
I was told to put blue loctite around that area. Like I said, no leaks since I've replaced mine.
