About the 2016's
« on: November 19, 2015, 04:57:15 PM »
Has anyone heard anything about the new Z800's.
They were supposed to make some changes. I was wondering what they were changing-upgrading?

As far as I know, nothing. They changed the red so it was a molded red instead of a painted red. They changed the graphics, supposed to be updating the wheels, and all the seats will be styled with either white or red accents, depending on the model color. The prices also went up $300 vs 2015 models.

I have not been made aware of any mechanical or feature changes or upgrades.

I'm sorry I thought I was replying to someone else but anyway I was talking about the Two Brothers Exhaust.   $500.00 is a lot of money for something I already have!

How badly do you want to make more noise?

That's what I was thinking!   I don't mind a little noise now and then but not all the time and especially for that much money I'll just let it go!

The point of the two-brothers exhaust is flow. Its lest restrictive than the stock exhaust. Alone, no its just a noise maker. How ever, add a free flow air filter, re-route the airbox intake to a cleaner cooler spot, then add a EFI controller that allows you to put more fuel into that sadly leaned out engine, and you have a reason to spend $500. There is no one magic part. Its a combination of parts that help make an engine perform better.

With how lean CFMoto is forced to set these by the EPA, I would not swap the air filter out with a better air flow, and/or an exhaust unless you have an EFI controller. Doing so with out could cause your machine to lean out too much and melt down.

I've read new clutching, electrical connectors and more durable front diffs for 2016. It's under news on the US site.

The following is a reply from CFMOTO Canada about the new electrical connectors used for the 2016 model year.

-That wiring (connectors included) is from Sumitomo and is only in our 2016 cforce 500HO.
- It has been introduce as a new supplier not specifically to replace or to be better that the one we use.
- As fare as I know the zforce generation and the newer models (2011 and up) didn’t have issue (except some rare cases)  with the wiring connectors.
- For us one or the other are as good.

I've reread the news release on US site and not sure on improvements on Z models. Not sure of what some had and some didn't. Sorry I've been so caught up in thinking about getting the Uforce 500. Sometimes I suffer from Internet Information Overload. It does sound like they have improved some. According to Jim Osterberg, Vice President of Service, “These and several other durability enhancements and improvements found throughout the line makes these 2016 models the most durable and reliable vehicles we’ve ever manufactured.”

Totally understand about being caught up, spent two months researching CFMOTO, reviews, forums ect. I was looking at the new Uforce 500 HO as well and figured that would be the way to go. Once I got looking the Z800 over and reading about the 800 changed my mind and picked up the Z800 53" last week. Good luck in finding what works best for you!

Clutching is still CVTech. Connectors were changed early in production for 2015 to a much better, waterproof style connector as opposed to the crap brittle chinese connectors they used (all chinese brands are guilty of using these low quality connectors)
